 Hi Trish,
Joey here. Amy and I have 3 kids. Two girls, 4 and 10, and a boy 7.
Do you home school? Our kids social lives are mostly neighbor kids, and church groups.
We did home school playgroups for years, but recently the kids have been too busy for those.
What ages are your kids?  Are you looking for home school groups? Churches w/ active youth programs? Preschool park groups? Amy knows a lotta folk doing all those things. Maybe she can steer a few your way.
I'll ask Amy to look into your site when she gets a moment.

We have lived in Venice now for about 1 1/2 yrs and love it. The only problem that we found is that it is difficult to meet other people with kids. I have started a local playgroup for anyone with kids(moms, dads, grandparents, nannies) to join. There is no cost or membership requirments. To join us go to www.raisingthem.com. group name: Venice/sarasota area kids.
Please join us for some fun events!

How can I correctly determine if my child is musically gifted?
This task is not as easy as it seems.
For example, Yevgeniya Jane Lepskaya has been studying the art of piano playing since the age of five and has taught piano since the age of 13.
Yevgeniya has extensive experience in working with the children as young as 4 years old, and has been able to correctly predict what level of musical mastery the child will be able to obtain.
I  believe,  that the article  that you will read  in this source will be highly valuable for everyone who has a child.
You will find this article especially helpful if you know that your child has an aptitude for playing a musical instrument.

For more info visit website - artofmusicschool.us, the  "Article" sudivision of "News"

P.S. Dear Moderator, please kill this post, if it is not  thematically.

Revelation Song - Phillips Craig & Dean

Lyrics to Revelation Song :
Worthy is the, Lamb who was slain
Holy, Holy, is He
Sing a new song, to him who sits on
Heaven's mercy seat
[2X]

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Clothed in rainbows, of living color
Flashes of lightning, rolls of thunder
Blessing and honor, strength and glory and power be
to You the only wise King

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Filled with wonder, awestruck wonder
At the mention of your name
Jesus your name is power
Breath, and living water
Such a marvelous mystery
Yeah...

Holy, Holy, Holy
Is the Lord God Almighty
Who was, and is, and is to come, yeah
With all creation I sing
Praise to the King of Kings
You are my everything
And I will adore You

Legacy Trail Pedestrian Bridge construction begins in January

Venice will benefit from the unexpected
availability of stimulus funding
for transportation. ( I personally wonder at the wording 'benefit' considering all the baggage that comes with stimulus funding. Is Mayor Partisan now editing the newsletters from the city?) The Florida
Department of Transportation and
Sarasota County will construct a
pedestrian overpass across U.S. 41
Bypass that will connect the Legacy
Trail and Venetian Waterway Park
from Shamrock Park in South Venice
to Clark Road in Sarasota. Bicyclists and hikers will be able to
walk and bike the entire distance without ever encountering
motor driven vehicles.

The 900-foot long, 12-foot wide bridge will look much like
the other bridges in Venice. ZEP Construction Incorporated and
American Consulting Engineers plan to begin construction in
January 2011, and expect completion around September 2011.
During construction there will be some traffic shifts along
U.S. 41 Bypass and detours along Legacy Trail. Anytime vehicular
lanes must be closed, the work will be done at night.

When the project is done, the trail on the east side of the
bypass near Bird Bay Drive will lead onto the overpass, and will
flow back onto the trails on the west side of the bypass near Bird
Bay Shopping Center.
